Vietnamese Subtitle Generator
Add Vietnamese subtitles to any video automatically. Upload a video with Vietnamese speech and get accurate, timed subtitles back with every tone mark and every đ, ă, â, ê, ô, ơ and ư written correctly.
Vietnamese has six tones that change the meaning of a syllable, and a written form that stacks up to two diacritics on a single vowel. A transcript that drops the marks is a transcript nobody can read. The model writes them, and the export keeps them.

What makes Vietnamese subtitles different
Every language breaks in its own way. These are the parts that matter for Vietnamese.
Tones written, not dropped
Ma, má, mà, mả, mã and mạ are six different words. Every syllable carries its tone mark in the transcript and in the exported file.
Hanoi, Huế and Saigon
Northern, Central and Southern Vietnamese differ in how tones and consonants are pronounced. The transcript reads the region from the audio and writes standard spelling.
Stacked diacritics intact
A vowel like ệ or ở carries two marks. They are written as the correct precomposed Unicode characters so they render cleanly rather than as detached accents.
Fonts that have the glyphs
Many display fonts lack Vietnamese characters and silently substitute. The caption styles here use fonts with full Vietnamese coverage, so burned-in text looks right on a phone.
How to add Vietnamese subtitles to a video
Upload, review, export. No timeline scrubbing and no timecodes typed by hand.
- 1
Upload your video
Create your free account, then drop in an MP4, MOV, MKV or audio file containing Vietnamese speech. There is nothing to install.
- 2
Generate Vietnamese subtitles
The model transcribes the Vietnamese audio with tone marks and vowel diacritics in place, resolves regional pronunciation into standard spelling, and times each line to the frame.
- 3
Edit and export
Correct any names or terms in the editor, then download the video with Vietnamese subtitles burned in, or export a clean .srt or .vtt file.
Vietnamese tone marks, done properly
Written Vietnamese uses the Latin alphabet with a system of diacritics that carries two kinds of information at once: vowel quality (the difference between a, ă and â) and tone (the five marks that distinguish six tones). A single vowel can carry one of each. Drop either and the word changes or disappears. This is why Vietnamese written without diacritics — common in quick messaging — is a guessing game, and why subtitles cannot afford it.
The transcript writes every mark. It also resolves regional pronunciation: Southern speakers merge some tones and consonants that Northern speakers keep apart, and Central speech differs again. The model reads the region from the audio and writes the standard spelling, so a video with speakers from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City comes back consistent on screen.
The last problem is rendering, and it is where many tools that transcribe Vietnamese correctly still fail. Stacked diacritics have to be written as precomposed Unicode characters, and the font has to contain them, or the viewer sees floating accents or empty boxes. Both are handled here: the export is UTF-8 with precomposed characters, and the caption fonts have full Vietnamese coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Specific to Vietnamese, not the generic list.
Are all the tone marks and diacritics written?
Yes. Every syllable carries its tone mark and every vowel its diacritic, written as precomposed Unicode and exported as UTF-8.
Does it handle Southern and Central Vietnamese?
Yes. Northern, Central and Southern pronunciation are read from the audio and written in standard spelling, so a mixed-region video comes back consistent.
Will the diacritics render correctly when burned in?
Yes. The caption styles use fonts with full Vietnamese coverage, so stacked marks like ệ and ở render cleanly rather than as detached accents or boxes.
Can I export Vietnamese subtitles as SRT?
Yes. Export a .srt or .vtt for YouTube, or download the video with Vietnamese subtitles burned in for Reels, Shorts and TikTok.
Can I get English subtitles from a Vietnamese video?
Translated tracks are on the roadmap. The Vietnamese transcript comes first so a translation is made from a corrected source.
Can I edit my captions before exporting?
Yes. Correct the transcript, adjust timings, choose a caption style and then export the finished video or a clean SRT or VTT file.
